Here comes the Bride

“How to design a wedding Invite”

I get lots of requests for graphic projects, Posters, Logos, Branding even wedding invites. And I thought I might share a recent one with you all, and the process that we went through to get a final result.

Printed wedding invite

After the happy couple approached me with the great news, My main goal was to create a wedding invite that suited the type of people they were. Very Intelligent, caring, elegant, very stylish and deeply in love. These things needed to be brought together in the wedding package.

Not only is there an invite, there is a Envelope design, registry, RSVP, optional extras, resort card and even a RSVP envelope. All these elements needed to be thought of when creatively building the original idea.

After many sketches and taking on a numerous amount of “pintrest” wedding ideas the Invite began to take shape. I know once we were on the right track in regards to ideas and “branding” for the invite, everything else would fall into place.

Being a traditional wedding, but having the reception out side at a beautiful resort under a stream of lanterns, we tried to take elements of their previous planning into account, and bring them into the final design.

Then everything gained momentum, colours were decided, the happy couple and I got confirmation on each and every item, the maid of honour was addressed on the envelopes for RSVPs, the final printing was done on high quality paper, small ribbed envelopes were decided which added to the prestige, and a lovely clean, crisp perforated option on the RSVP forms was made available.

The clients were so happy with the result, that I even received an invite to the wedding.

When designing for such an important event, you must always remember that the Bride has final say, the Bride has final say, the Bride has final say and to always run everything through spellcheck.
